Fort Mantanzas

As one of the focal points in the protection of the Castillo De San Marcos, Fort Mantanzas is the home of one of the bloodiest battles on Florida's coast. Armed with cannons, Mantanzas closely guarded St. Augustine's southern river. Mantansas, Spanish for "Slaughter", maintained its name when the Spanish soldiers battled the French and left the blood covered sands with over 250 bodies scattered.

Juno and I took the tour of this old monument and armed with our EVP and K2, we traveled the waters to the old Fort. Our journey provided us with some interesting finds and K2 spikes that were constant. We will be posting more on this within the week. Keep a lookout for more from the team as we go over our findings and share them with you.
